Introduction -
Jamaica Below The Surface

David & Lee-Ann introduce "Jamaica Below The Surface" as they gear up to kick start an amazing aquatic adventure.

JAMAICA BELOW THE SURFACE

David Lee and Lee-Ann Rando, cousins and passionate ocean lovers from the coastal town of Port Antonio, have embarked on a mission to not only capture the beauty of Jamaica's marine landscape but also to bring attention to the urgent need for environmental conservation and preservation.

Growing up, they experienced firsthand the wonders of the underwater world and how it has changed over time. Witnessing the destruction of the marine ecosystem, they are driven to create a portfolio of the underwater world called "Jamaica Below The Surface" to showcase the remaining beauty and raise awareness about the importance of protecting it.

For the next 2 years starting January 2022, David and Lee-Ann will be using scuba and freediving to capture photographs and video footage of the waters around all 14 parishes of Jamaica. Along the way, they will be sharing their adventure through vlogging and social media, including Lee-Ann's YouTube channel.

David, who holds several world records in freediving and has been a photographer since 1989, will be curating a stunning collection of images for a photobook to be published at the end of this project. Additionally, he will be posting dive highlight videos to his YouTube channel, f-Stop Movies.

Through this project, David and Lee-Ann hope to shine a light on Jamaica's seascape, both showcasing its beauty and highlighting the destruction that has taken place. By doing so, they hope to inspire others to take action to preserve and protect this important ecosystem for future generations.
